Elvis Blues

February 28th is a special Sunday. Yerevan's Stop Club is featuring Narek Markarian's new show ELVIS BLUES. The show is a tribute to blues roots and blues legacy of Elvis Presley, that were so crucial on his path to stardom. Elvis was the first white man to sing the blues right, he opened show business doors for a great number of extremely talented African American entertainers and was highly influenced by many great blues artists. In 2004 Elvis Presley was among first white artists to be inducted to Blues hall of Fame.

Blues will be the dominating genre of the evening but not the only one. There is no Elvis tribute without some rock'n'roll, some ballads and gospel too.

Elvis in Concert 2010: The King
Elvis In Concert 2010 tour poster

Yes! I've been waiting for this for quite some time now and finally a new tour is announced! I can't express how happy I am to get a chance to experience this show and see TCB band members. For someone who was born after 1977 this is the best one can get.

2 London shows are close to a sellout already! I'll be packing my bags )))

Death Claimed the Crown of Pop

We deeply mourn loss of Michael Jackson. Along with Elvis Presley he was one of the few geniuses of the XXth century who changed modern music and touched the hearts of millions in every corner of the world.

Michael was a brilliant artist, an innovator, master showman outstanding vocalist and dancer and a fantastic music producer. Every pop record since 1980s was in a way affected by this fascinatinng artist.

It's very tragic that Michael died only two weeks befor his Farewell tour. The 75 000 tickets for his London show July 13 wre sold in record breaking 4 hours. Michael wanted this to be his farewell to the millions who supported him and loved him despite of all trials he was put through.

Thank you Michael, for the brilliant music you shared with us for so many years. You will never be forgotten and you will always remain the King of Pop.

Kurt Russel About Elvis

Here's a very nice clip, you can hear Kurt Russel talking about his meeting with Elvis in the first movie he ever played It Hapenned At The World's Fair.

Kurt Then goes and talking about Elvis' career in Hollywood, his music, and the experiences and challenges he faced while shooting Elvis: The Movie.

Interesting watch I think.
